So sorry. Had to put mine down this past April and was probably the hardest thing I've ever done.

If at all possible see if the vet can come to your house to do it. Won’t say it’s easier, but it gave me a little more comfort knowing he went where he was familiar. It’s never easy or gets any easier putting down a pet.

It’s a hard thing to do but that is the best way.

Keep in mind you are doing it for the dog, not you. When it is time it is time.

I had to have my Yellow male, Trapper put down 2 weeks ago. Under 8 years old but something was going on with him neither my Vet nor I could figure it out through all the tests, meds, feeding him literally with my fingers, etc. Putting him down was very tough on me and still is. Not sure what I will do for a dog as out health situation is such I don't think a pup is possible.

I can tell you the process, while sad, is good. The first injection literally put him out and to sleep quietly. The second ended the life of my duck hunting buddy quietly and with the dignity he deserved. As I type this at 70 years old I am crying like a baby I miss him so.

Trust your Vet.

Prayers sent. I had my Siberian Husky put down. Not ashamed to say I bawled like a baby. I don't need another dog yet.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

I feel the same way my biggest fear of getting a new dog is not knowing where it would go after I’m gone but a lot of dogs out there need better then what they have so it’s a tough choice.

Mine was the exact opposite. She was dead before the vet could remove the needle from her vein.

I'm sure sorry to hear about your dog. After meeting and getting to know you last year in Lawrence, I knew right away you were and are a great guy. I'm willing to bet one thing for certain and that's that your dog was always very well taken care of and most likely a little spoiled by you too.

I will be thinking of you tomorrow Len. Just know that I care.
