Looking for coyote and coon trapping instructions. I attempted to get ahold of Casey Payne by email and on here and can’t reach him. Does anyone know if he’s still giving instruction?
I am also looking for other recommendations with contact info.
Thanks everyone. Ed Schneider Kansas Trapline Products

I'll second Dale Billingsley he's a good guy and a trapping machine and makes some great lure to boot !
You're friend along the snare line . Allan

I’ve got both of Ed Schneider’s books and have picked up a lot from him over the last few years.

Ed Schieder.
You might call Red O'Hearn for coon. He's in southwest Iowa. I heard he had a health issue but I heard he may be back at it now?

Considering the state you are in, if I were looking for coon know how I would be contacting Dale Billingsley. He is on Facebook a lot. He has been done the road and is not a freaking chest beater like some that have run long lines. I got to believe he could teach a man a lot about canine trapping as well. He has a Billingsley Brand Lures. Facebook page and his personal page I think. He would be a darn good guy on beaver as well.
For Western coyote instruction besides Dale I would consider contacting Craig O'Gorman. I don't think John Graham does private instruction any more. At least he did not when I asked about instructions.
Wayne Derrick is a good coyote man out of New Mexico. Mac

No man can teach you the secret to being a successful coyote or coon trapper in quantity. This secret doesn't sell lure, instruction, or t shirts. The secret is a work ethic. You either have that or you don't. The most successful trappers discussed here have work ethics head and shoulders above their competition
Gotta live up to the nickname...

Advice from my strongman coach applies to trapping also, "people fail because they don't want to do things that suck". Generally, that translates to work, work, and work some more. Does that suck refer to setting in 90 degree plus temps with 70% humidity with gnats, mosquitoes, and snakes? Asking for a friend…

Kinda like walking miles through ankle deep mud/manure to check flooded out sets, when its supposed to be hard froze and snow.
