The water you hit was likely shallow perched groundwater and is not a suitable supply to depend on. You are going to have to go deeper to get a suitable supply. My opinion is to go deeper where you want the well if you feel there is water in that area.
Good luck!

Good luck! That's what I kinda thought too. Apparently there are several wells in the 10-15 foot range in that area. They insulate the tops so the water doesn't freeze.

Put the well where you want it. I would say if you go a little deeper where you want it you will get better water and plenty of it.
God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

We hit water in left front corner of storage side, dirt floor, left of the trusses. Water needs to come in on right rear corner of slab, bunk/shop side. Dug the 8’ test hole just behind tool tent on the right, sand but no water. So...that is what Nebraska looks like?

Good luck! Going deeper where you want the well should work fine. What you want is a water bearing formation with enough recharge ability to fit your needs. Hiring a driller would take the guess work out of this. At least talk to some in the area to give you an idea what you are looking for.
