My daughter has a 2015 Kia Sorento, she told me she needs new brakes and rotors, how much should that job cost? She was quoted $900, I do not know, but I thought that seemed pretty high.

Just had rotors and calipers out on my company f-150. It was $1075

That has to be a dealer. All 4 wheels for just lining and new rotors shouldn't be half that.

That could be a few hundred in just parts but unless your daughter has been ignoring the screeching and scrubbing for awhile it would be highly unusual to need all four at the same time.

Much more common is for them wear in pairs front and back.

Needing rotors tells me three possibilities. She did ignore the screeching and they are grooved beyond the point of being turned. She has been fastidious in maintaining her brakes turning the rotors each time as she should and they have reached the end of their service life. The mechanic is to lazy sorry to know how to turn a rotor and is a parts swapper on her dime.

Rock auto has rotors from $25 each to over $100
Say you buy the ones I would that would be $160
So add brakes another $60
Labor $250

My daughter got a quote from the honda dealer in Ottawa-1800 for a brake job.
I went to see Mitch at the garage in town-He quoted 400 for a brake job on the honda,lol.
Great to have a local mechanic in the community.

My wifes car was $450 for front brakes and rotors, oil change, and inspection. It's a 2015 Rav4.

That's about what I figured as well but didn't look up cost of the rotors or pads.

Many rotors can be bought new for about the same as having one turned. That would be my only consideration whether to buy new or not.

I turn/ resurface the rotors unless they're rusty or scored too deep. 15 dollars a pair.

If that is a Life Time Warranty then go for it with that price.

Just did new rotors, pads, and calipers all the way around on my son's 3/4 ton diesel for under $250 a wheel.

Wish I could find that price locally. Last I had turned was 30 per.

A local honest mechanic is golden. Keep asking people until you find one.

It's better to work on your truck instead of taking into a garage unless your lazy and rich!.

new pads and rotors are not difficult to do yourself. if you are unable i would call around. 500 bucks ought to cover it. if you need more than that it would explain the price quoted
