I have used Victor #1 round pan stoploss for 43 year so I would continue with those.Over those 40 some years I have held well over 500-600 coons in those traps as well as the mink. The idea however of choosing one is not the best way to be efficient or effective.

One spring duke 160. Waxed, Short trigger and no dongs. Dukes have longer springs and larger spring eyes.

#2 Square jaw Victor has been a pretty good one for me. I like them all though.

Duke 1 1/2 coil with laminated jaws and weakened springs and Wild River pans.

My all-time favorite is a 110 square jaw. In a Coil Spring Victor Double Jaw Pinch Pans. Running low on the pinch pans these days so I use a lot of Bridger 1.5 Specials Modified with a double jaw and base plated will drop a rat to the bottom quickly.

Safety dongs and long triggers will cost you rats.

Colony trap first choice here, 110 close second

#1 stoploss.That being said,staked to hold any animal in the vicinty.These traps have held a boatload of coon and and a whole bunch of beaver--largest beaver I held in a #1 stoploss weighed 56 pounds. Staking is as important as the trap itself.
