Just finished talking with the UMWA Union and I have been fully eligible for my Pension after 25 years. 31/2 ago I could and should have retired. Will I miss working as a Coalminer?? Heck Yes and I will keep in touch with my buddies but I went to Deborahs office today and gave her my 2 weeks notice. For the duration I will not be dropping anymore either. I will get all of my Geologicals and Paperwork wrapped up and I will be GONE!!! Time to enjoy life and the Family. Why was I staying under anyway? We lived off of my Bonuses and my wifes SSI but we have banked my checks and her Pension the last 6 1/2 years. Time to enjoy life before this job hurts or kills me!!!

Congratulations! I retired the end of last year and it's great! It seemed a little strange at first, but now I'm loving it.

Good deal. I work with a lot of guys that have well over 30 years one guy has 52 and they won't retire. Thus plant is all they know since thay have done nothing but work overtime for years. So their kids are gone wife's died or divorced them when another man was actually there and smiled at her. They don't have any friends left out side of thus plant either so they keep coming in.

Now it's time to live and enjoy life.

Go out and find a sturdy/ long grape vine and walk back and take a big run ahead. Then jump and yell "HURRAY FOR ME." as your feet leave the ground and fly airborne for a few moments and back again.

Sit down and look around yourself and think about the next chapter of your life. It will take some time to adjust to a new daily routine. Enjoy your years ahead.
