I've trapped over a hundred. I have 75 in my bait freezer. I'm tired of trapping them. It's a two acre grass yard slap full of them. Mowing is getting rough. Any poisons or gas bombs work on them? I'd hate to use poison but they gotta go. I'm bout ready to go full on caddy shack! Lol. Thanks for any advice

What about the habitat is drawing them in?
If the habitat is what they want, more will keep moving in.
Change the habitat, they will not want to live there.

EBL is right, change the habitat. You may have to work up the field since they are well established there. Poison will work but as long as the holes are there, others will move in as soon as you take out the main colony.

I don't know what draws them. The yard is the same as the rest except we keep goats and chickens there. I get a few in my yard but trapping them is enough. I make coyote bait with them. The other house is bad! It's beating my mower apart with all the holes! Lol. Maybe poison to try and get them under control, then trap any new comers? I appreciate the advice. If I didn't mow it, I wouldn't care but it's a buisness so I have to. I bought a pellet pistol and shoot a few everytime I mow and put out traps as well. Not made a dent.

Zinc phosphide pellets or grain baits can be used here to control them. I'm not sure if it's allowed in your state. Check it out to see if it's legal where you live. Thanks. But I can't find a rodenticide with Zinc phosphide?

I found some bait blocks with ZP as the active ingredient. I've also got a ton of bait stations big enough for them I believe. I hate useing poison but seems to be m6 best option at the moment. Thanks for all the advice.

Once the holes are established they will continue to move in. You may have to till up and rework your yard if it's that bad.

ZP is nasty stuff and is not to be taken lightly. I’m the only person who uses it at my company. I’m to afraid other people would use it then go eat a sandwich or pet a dog or something.
I’d recommend not using it. Are you using the powder? In my line of work, we use zp oats. You would have to eat it to result in any kind of harm. We use it because secondary poisoning hardly exists, and it is neutralized quickly once moisture hits it. It is fast acting, almost all animals die in their holes. Once ingested it mixes with the stomach acids and then creates a phosphine gas that kills them. There's more secondary poisoning (additional animals harmed from eating poisoned animals) from the blood thinner types than from zp oats.

Learn how to be a better trapper That's a joke right? I'm not the godlike trapper you are grey. ZP is legal for ground squirrels in WI. ....Anyway, this worked like a charm and I ain't seen the first one in three weeks. Thanks for the tips folks. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/08/full-527-187246-20230828_095749.jpg)
