Bears in my part of central Minn aren't real common, but an occasional one isn't out of the ordinary either. To my inexperienced eyes it looks like a good size animal but I really dont know bears. My neighbor says its only 200lbs live weight, to me it just looks bigger. Thoughts?

I’d agree bigger than 200. He’s got a mature blocky muzzle, he has a few years on him.

Live weight would say 250 plus. Hard to judge nothing to compare it to.

There’s not a lot of daylight under that belly and he’ll pack on some pounds before season… 250 is a good guess and north of that when bear season approaches

That’s a 200# bear all day long. Zero chance at 300. You’ll know when you get a big boy…the head will look like a pimple and the gut will hang.

The heavier the bear, the less space between the ground and it's belly.

You guys gotta realize, it July!

Aint many wild bears gonna have a sagging belly this time of year.
It's a good bear and by fall, it'll put on some weight.
Just from that little clip, I'd say he's already 275# plus.

I agree with the guys saying 250+. Osky pointed out the blocky muzzle and bucksnbears pointed out it's going to put on considerable weight over the next three or four months.

Always taught a big bear had small ears on its head. The ears aren't looking all that small, guessing under 250 lbs. Nice looking bear but needs a year to grow into itself yet.

Yup. Good size bear. I weigh about 230 right now and he’s got a few pounds on me
