I'm not sure if this was deleted earlier..if it was ..please delete and I apologize.
My neighbor shot himself late Thursday evening or Friday before 3.
You just never know what someone going through..he as always in the garage when you passed by and would wave. He was in his 60s.
He threatened to kill his gf and then himself.. she got scared and left at 8 or so thursday night
She probably saved her own life by leaving when she did.
Suicide hits close to home with me.
My heart aches for him and those he left behind.
I hope he's found peace.
IF IDIOTS GREW ON TREES THIS PLACE WOULD BE AN ORCHARD !

Sorry to hear that Cathryn. I've lost two nephews to suicide. I can't understand what kind of pain people are in that they have to take their own lives. If they only knew the amount of pain left behind from their deaths, maybe they might have reconsidered their action.

Sorry to hear that Cathryn. I had a neighbor try it with his shotgun, when it went fubar he called me rather than 911. Last time I saw him, years ago, he looked, talked and chewed differently.

I wonder why the rate is so much higher in men? It's strange, women attempt suicide about 3 times as often as men, but mostly are not successful at it. "CDC data demonstrates that men account for over 76% of suicide deaths in the United States each year. The CDC also found that there are 3.3 male suicide deaths for every female suicide death. In contrast, in research studies, women are two to three times more likely to discuss thoughts of suicide than men, and there are approximately three female suicide attempts per every one male suicide attempt." https://cams-care.com/resources/educational-content/the-gender-paradox-of-suicide/Keith

I am sorry for your loss. Sometimes people do it after a terminal diagnosis for something too. You just never know.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I’m still here because I had some individuals here on Tman who actually called me and helped me get through a very difficult moment. They know who they are and I will be forever grateful. It’s very hard to explain depression …it’s not like flipping a switch and you automatically feel better. I’m on medication now and I have a fantastic support group. I made a promise, that if I ever even get the smallest thought like that again,,, I will get help. If someone you know is talking about it, don’t brush them off… they might actually do it. I’m sorry Catherine that this happened… I know that no amount of words can help you feel better… just know that we will be praying for you in your time of grief for strength and comfort.

The mind is a powerful enemy it can have a negative impact on anyone in their lifetime. Ive seen its impact often over the years with depression, self worth, addiction, anger, mental illness and denial.
