I own a .35 caliber Hatsan and it is an absolute tack driver. I do some nuisance work and in certain populated settings it’s been very handy.

I had a Air arms 410 and 510 for years that I used mainly for pest control shooting rabbits on golf courses and horse paddocks. With a can on it they are whisper quiet One was in .22 and the other in 177... I am thinking of going getting back into the PCP game for squirrels and such

I dispatch my coyote catch's with a .25 cal Benjamin marauder with a synthetic stock, very quiet.

Also have .30 cal Rainstorm, to nice a rifle to haul around for every day use.

Both are tack driver at 50 yds.

I use a marauder and own an avenger. For the price, the avenger is hard to beat. This was a 5 shot group at 40 yards a few days ago. .22cal

If it makes a track on this earth , I can catch it.

The marauder is a decent gun. Very quiet but twice the price of the avenger with less tunable features.

Loved mine, Benjamin Maximus, if your get one with a hand pump to fill it make super you get a moisture filter attachment , didn't for mine and end up with a air leak due to moisture getting ina ND eating up the internals. Not a hard fix though, just have gotten around to putting in the new parts. So if you can afford it get a regulated one. Non regulated ones are good but after a certain shot count per fill you'll start getting lower and lower velocity. I know with my Maximus it was around the 15rd mark out out 30 shots once it's dropp d to like 2000psi

If you're looking for top quality, check out the FX air rifles. Pricey but top notch.

I believe the avenger is one of the cheapest regulated pcp. I can tune it to get 120 shots before it starts dropping off. Right now I get around 85 shots per fill and can fill quickly from a scba tank.

Next question, what caliber, thinking 22, but 25 might be more versatile?

She's a little chunky looking for my liking though lol. Nice gun however . Looking hard at the game coyote though

I mean honestly with the type of shot placements you'll be taking with a air rifle a .22 is perfectly adequate out to 100yd . Good wind bucking lots of energy, good pellet selection on a local scale. ( Really nice to be able to hope over to Walmart and get some crossman when you forget to order more fancy ones)
.25 is growing in popularity especially with the "slug" side of things lately but egh I feel if your staying with coon sized game and below no real need.

I almost think a pellet gun is better to have than a .22 lr.

I can and have shot all types of guns in my yard. I have gone to shooting striped gophers with the pellet rifle rather than the 22 LR. I can shoot a pellet rifle in directions I would not a 22 LR. I like it better for a yard gun.

I bought my boys both the maximus in .22 like wolf dog has. I saw the last ammo shortage coming. .22 cal pellets are cheaper than .22lr and we're on the shelf when .22 lr was not. They get about 30 shots per fill and it takes about 70 to 75 pumps om the cheap China hand pump I got off Amazon for 69$ it fills to a lower pressure so no need for high pressure air compresser or filling scuba tanks.

If you go down to 177 you get a bunch more shots if you go up to .25 you get less shots per fill.

We used them for dispatch and they put coyotes down as fast as a .22 from 15 yards with head shots. If I were starving I believe it would put deer down with the same shot just as fast early to at least 20 yards.

I love air guns.
