Land ownership climbing every year now a total of 385,000 acres. I wonder what their end game is? Does China allow Americans to purchase land in their country?

Canada is the biggest foreign landowner of US land.

I don’t think anyone but the Chinese government can own land in China.

I'm honestly surprised it's not all 50 States, all the US Territories with a big chunk of strategic land in Washington DC.

I don't think China should be allowed to own any land in the US. I don't think they should be allowed to own any part of our food production either.

Most are made and finished here in the US.

Before my dad retired, he was Director of Pharmaceuticals, Health & Beauty, Research & Development, Iams, Gillette and more at Procter & Gamble. I know a fair amount about pharmaceuticals. Most other countries can't produce pure enough chemicals to sell in the US.

Conflict does look inevitable. I don't see any easy solutions. I wish we steered China to our way of thinking like we did long ago with Japan and South Korea.

If you look at the link I posted, you will see that only 7% of the active pharmaceutical ingredients in pharmaceuticals consumed here in the US come from China. Only 6% of finished pharmaceuticals consumed here in the US are made in China. Over half of our pharmaceuticals are made here in the US.
China's labs mostly suck at quality control. China really sucks at research and development.

As a people, the Chinese are smart, but not creative. That's why they bribe US politicians to help steal our technology.

Keith, I saw that 7% from.a number of sources, yet higher numbers ftom other sources.

China itself claimed that if we wanted a trade war ( over computer chips) they would withhold medical and Vitamin components.

Some minor difference in numbers comes from if the statistics quoted are for all pharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals for human consumption or pharmaceuticals for animal consumption, which don't have to be nearly as pure as the ones for human consuption.

China mostly produces low quality pharmaceuticals for animals and simple, non-patented ones for human consumption.
