US land ownership should be limited to US citizens

I've posted on Trapperman several times about how Chinese birth tourism in the US, to gain US Citizenship for Chinese babies, that are born here and then returned to China, is a major National Security problem. China spent over 50 million shipping pregnant women to the US to give birth here. The US is finally cracking down on it a little.

Only children of citizens born here should get automatic citenship. The US and Canada are among the very few that have not closed that subversive loop hole.

I don't believe foreign countries should be allowed to own land, vital resources or production facilities in the US. Foreign citizens that own any of those should be highly vetted and mostly prohibited.

That would work in an ideal world. But it is beyond idiotic to believe that would not cause huge security concerns in the real world we actually live in.

I am actually surprised that their ownership is that small really. 385,000 acres is not even one half of one average county here in WI. Yes we can and should have some concerns regarding foreign ownership in our land but it is American capitalists that are selling the land to an authoritarian dictatorship. Can't blame the Chinese for not taking advantage. Not so much different than business owners donating money to politicians who want to close the boarders, throw out all the undocumented workers, not let them drive legally, yet want them to show up for work every day.

A much better question to ask and to have the answer to is "How much land do Chinese nationals and Chinese shell corporatiins own in the US for China?" Sadly there are no statistics readily available on that likely many times larger number.

And you all forget that there are other countries that own many thousands of acres of land in the USA, it is NOT just China.

My math might not be correct, but the way I figured it about 1 acre out of 5,000 acres is owned by China. The number should be zero, I agree, but the bigger problem is our unprotected borders.

Yes there may well be hidden acres in other companies but as stated above US land and business owners have been selling their land and firms to Chinese or Chinese controlled firms. Still is an American business owner problem and not those that take advantage of those opportunities. We are very reluctant in the USA to stifle freedoms to sell assets etc. to whomever is the higher bidder and our politicians are not willing or able to bring control over those sales either. To me the land sales are the smaller issue. We have sold many major portions of large industries and economic sectors to several different foreign investors. Some of the largest companies operating in the USA are headquartered and lead from foreign owners.

I guess the Chinese were thinking way ahead when the Central Pacific was building railways. They was building roads so they could get to the land they now own, lol.

It's not gonna matter who owns the land or what's constructed on it when the turds hit the fan. It won't to me....

China certainly bears watching... But they're certainly not as tough as they purport themselves to be.

I think both Peter Zeihan, who Ben Shapiro quotes and Ben are right on on many things. I worry though that just like the pigs in George Orwell's "Animal Farm", send Boxer, the hard working draft house, to the slaughterhouse when he is no longer useful to them, the Communist Chinese Party will just get rid of their aged population when they are no longer more than a burden.

Covid could have been engineered just for that reason and may still be perfected.

Getting rid of their retired workers would allow them to survive as a nation with a much smaller working population.

We should sell the entire US to China. Take the money to pay off our debt. Then raise real estate taxes 1,000%. When they default we will take it back at the courthouse steps. Lol

We are taking care of them, we send them billions buying there finely made merchandise. Lol

They own a lot of American companies and are invested heavily in the stock market . A lot more money there than in land.
