I can't say "never" to that one. 10,000 feet over Playa Del Carmen Mexico.

I have nothing clever to put here.

It took 2 shots from a 243 before it went down? That's a new one for me. Normally they drop on the spot without any spinning and flipping like I get with a 223 and why I chose larger cal guns. Seems odd it stayed on its feet long enough to take 2 shots... must have been an AR 10.

Sounds like someone running fmj through it..

I can say I've never gotten a tattoo but I can't say that I've never taken a bullet..

I can remember those days when you were running your line and the coon was still laying at the set but the trap would be gone. Might have been ADC. LOL

I was going to re up In the Corps and get Into recon and go to jump school. But never got there. I'm not jumping out of any plane.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

Have never even thought about doing that but got very mad when I went to a Rummage sale and found three of my #2 Coils for sale. I know they were mine because they still had my trap tags wrapped around the chain on them. The lady assured me they were his sons until I showed her the trap tags. They only lived about 1 and a half miles from me as the crow flies or the Thief slithers.

Had a fox shot in a trap…twice with a 30/06!! Talked with the guy who said the fox was suffering so he took it upon himself to put it out of its misery. After a talk with the landowner he was booted and paid me for the fox. I had someone that wanted 10 Greys that year. Have no clue what he wanted them for but he was willing to pay. And these were not live fox either.
We don’t have that issue of folks generally messing with sets or animals, at least I don’t. Most landowners let everyone know trapping is taking place and they will never set foot on the property again if anything is messed with. I did have one old man that would call me if I had a coon. I gave him permission to dispatch and remove as long as he’d send me a pic of the coon in the trap alive then a pic of the dispatched coon. He’d take everyone I’d catch and even offered to pay. They’d have some serious BBQ’s, lol.

Definitely a Rem .243. As near as I could figure he shot him in the flank and blew out a hole the size of a football and then shot him again in the rib cage for the kill. Made a $40 yote into a $6 one.

One time I was driving the road and a coyote with a #2 coil spring on a front foot ran across the road in front of me and went across a open bean field. I grabbed my 44 S&W and threw a couple shots at him maybe 30 yards out. Hit him right behind the rib cage and blew his stomach out and he dragged it for 200 yds to the fence row and got the little piece of board stake about 12'' long with about a foot of chain hung on a stob. I was totally out of breath from running across the muddy bean field and finished him off for truely a mercy killing. The trap had no name tag nor did I have any idea where he had came from. Last I seen of the trap, it was hanging down in the shed some place.

About all I can say is if anybody has never had anything but clean kill shots, then they are truly an expert or haven't shot enough to have the exception to the rule.

Well it's one thing to make a marginal shot on a free and moving animal especially with a hand gun. Happens with long guns as well. But one in a trap 300 yards away is pretty stationary.

Making bad shot aside heck even with bad shots 308 based rounds put them down for me.
Hit one running with my 260 rem in the back legs through the hips at 250 yards. It stoped then took off . Droped it on the spot. Was alive but never moved had a hole larger than a large grape fruit on the exit side where the fragments of its hips exited .
