Any in your area to hunt yet? We don't seem to have very many right now.

Been watching birds in the mornings and evenings. We probably have about 300 coming in. Going to watch the next two mornings and evenings to see when the most come in. That will determine if we hunt Saturday morning or afternoon. Sunny vs cloudy vs rain all makes a difference in numbers and times.

I always have doves around here, even through the Winter. I am not seeing huge flocks yet.

Powerlines here are loaded every time I go scout for early teal season.
Have some wild sunflower/dope patches I am going to hunt tomorrow and throughout the weekend.
Hopefully chase some prairie chickens also as I flushed 6 yesterday scouting for ducks.
Hunting Saturday and Sunday for teal.

Season opens tomorrow. We'll get a good, hard frost tonight, so the doves will be gone by tomorrow. The way it always works...

That stinks, man. Unfortunately, the exact opposite here. 97 tomorrow, 102 Saturday, and 104 Sunday.

Do you have many teal yet?
Our season opens September 9th. Very few here yet.
I pumped some water for them. Hope some show up before the opener.
I’ve got a buddy at Oshkosh. He said the southern sandhill lakes are loaded with bluewings.

Just went and watched from 1545-1630 and had over 150 come in the area I was watching. The manager was at the other field and said 125 on his end. I know driving out I saw more birds heading that way. Should be a good shoot Saturday. Only supposed to be 82 and lower humidity.

I have not had a good dove shoot in over a decade. Planted 1/2 acre odf sunflowers last year throught had no positive effect. If I knew where to go call and get access where they are really flying I would take the boys out to 6 hrs or so away for a good shoot so they could experience it like I used to.

We seem to always get a cold rain. It rained a half a inch last night, but was 57 degrees when I got up yet. I have seen more doves here this year then I think I ever have. I may go out and see if I can shoot a few.
