Seeing plenty here in SE Nebr. Wheat stubble and wheat that was not combined because of drought seems to be the place I'll be Saturday A.M.. A buddy sowed millet in a couple non harvested wheat field. Appears to be a magnet for doves. Gonna be hot Sat and Sunday.

The locals know too much. About 3 shots and they vamous! It will be good hunting when the northern birds get down here.
It has always been one of my fav ways to spend an evening.

got lots but we can't hunt them. Us too Why? They are considered migratory birds just like ducks. I’d think if you had any sort of population of them then DNR would have a season for them.

Powerlines here are loaded every time I go scout for early teal season. Have some wild sunflower/dope patches I am going to hunt tomorrow and throughout the weekend. Hopefully chase some prairie chickens also as I flushed 6 yesterday scouting for ducks. Hunting Saturday and Sunday for teal. Do you have many teal yet? Our season opens September 9th. Very few here yet. I pumped some water for them. Hope some show up before the opener. I’ve got a buddy at Oshkosh. He said the southern sandhill lakes are loaded with bluewings. I was worried 2-3 weeks ago. Wasn't seeing anything. Finally starting to see some but also been scouting a lot more. My spot tomorrow is holding 200-300 birds. Solid number of woodies and other big ducks mixed in so will have to be careful.

From what I saw this morning you might be waiting awhile yet for more teal. Pretty significant number moving at daylight and warm stretch of weather coming so they’ll likely hold for awhile Id imagine more come down wisconsin side of the lake to you but if we are still holding big numbers they likely are too
