Will Never buy a Liberty safe

I never could afford one anyway, but if anyone is throwing theirs out over this let me know.

First off, who keeps a safe with the original passcode? Do you have to register them with the company if you change it?

what no one seems to be saying very clearly is , is this a passcode that can be derived from the serial number a back door password that even if you change it to what you can remember they can always get back in. for customer service purposes


that seems to be the actual case you can change it all you want , built into the circuitry is the default it left the factory with and it always works

they now offer you the option for them to delete it from their records , with all the backlash of them giving it away without being named on the warrant

mechanical you can oil form time to time an needs no battery that leaks and ruins the internals nor any magnet to lift the locking piece

my safe combo drifted. Not fun issue to figure out. It is a Liberty I have have had over 20 some years. I sure aint gonna tell them what the combo drifted to....

Again liberty had no business responding to a warrant on a safe they did not own! Now liberty is changing their policy to only complying when subpoenaed. Too late they crapped the bed, and why do they have a master key for all safes? It was so easy not our safe not our business. That’s between you and the accused… they are compromised just like some types on here.
