I don't have the discipline to drink enough water thru the day either. Dehydration is a huge energy killer.

I'm doing keto/carnivore diet and looking for a snack and thought about pemmican. Do you make your own? Anything besides beef and tallow?

Hooosier, I run jerky through the fine plate on my grinder. Add rendered beef fat, still hot, in an equal amount. Then a little salt. It pumps you up like sugar with out a crash.

When I am home chilled fruit but when I am out and about what ever I have in the center console. Peanuts, cashews, jerky, or crackers with peanut butter or cheese works. I usually wash it down with a sugar free power aid or equivalent drink out of the cooler.

Peanut butter and raisin sandwiches. A little protein and sugar for energy, some filler to take the wrinkles out of your belly. And not a sticky mess smashed in a pocket or pack like jelly, jam, or honey.
In the Jeep, Colby Longhorn cheese and Ritz crackers, maybe some jerky too. But that never seems to be around as much.
A bit of coffee, or if it's hot out some sweet ice tea.

I'm not really sure I gain much energy from anything anymore, but that right there is as good as it gets for me, I guess.
