Not old enough to remember that, but in the 90s and early 2000s every decent boy's truck had a gun in the rack on the back window. And for some recent the indecent boys never even considered stealing them.....

I remember late ‘70s checking traps before school word got out that I had some critters in the trunk of my car. The principal and another teacher asked me if it was true. We went to my car and showed them. 3 coons, a fox and a .22 in plain view. They gave me a lecture about rabies, never said a word about the rifle. lol

The local school started a trap league this year, not sure how it would go over having a rifle in a rack in the parking lot. Our local church meets at the high school and one of the ushers had his Glock mag sticking out once when collecting the offering though and nobody seemed to care.

Your tax dollars hard at work. Maybe if we give the teachers a raise it will smooth out. Home schooling is the way to go in this day and age. I say defund them and shut them down.

Times have changed even if kids haven't. It seems like I was in the principals office every other day when I was in elementary school. Fighting...it's what we did. I don't recall the police ever getting involved, no suspensions, no records to trail you throughout life. I don't even remember my parents getting involved.

Education wasn't as overtly leftist then as it is today.

I rember the teacher doing the paddling out in the hall in 85 through 87 the other kids could hear and you went right back to class's so you didn't cry. then they had to send you to the principals office to get paddling. By 90 they could no longer do it at all. My freshman year the principal and mom were on a first name basis and spoke monthly if not weekly. That would be 94. Ms. Winkler this is Mr Williams at ..... what did he do this time?

In the 70's I used to take guns to school and work on them in shop class. No one ever thought a thing about it.
