That a beauty. I shoot them thru the shoulder as well with a 338. I've never seen a animal with such a strong will to live as a elk has. Congratulations

Alberta too lol. I like to anchor them by making them into 2x4 rather than 4x4. People seem to ask what is a good moose gun. My experience is moose are pusses. The should be asking about elk. Imo you cannot be overgunned when it comes to elk unless you like tracking. 338 with a 225 ttsx is my recipe for not tracking lol. Our rifle season opens today. Looking forward to getting out amongst the wapiti's

100 % agree I always tell people that moose are big babies. Elk on the other hand, you dont stop shooting until their dead or you cant see them anymore. That's my rule for everything actually but elk are a different beast.

Ok ya cause he has the tine length, no matter hes a beast and a (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) of a draw bull no matter what zone.
