Nice bit of work BnB. One of the best coyote killin mornings I ever had was trying to turkey hunt on a foggy morning with a big frost near Alta Vista (the Flint Hills). The turkeys weren't having it, but while leaning against a big cottonwood and an call duty (mouth calling) a coyote jumped right over my legs. He was trying to sneak in the back door and kicked up a jack rabbit. It jumped over my legs too but he didn't get any of the lead poisoning the butt shifter caught.

Good times

That's because all that crop stubble has been un-frizzling them , taking the styled "tease" hairdo out grin

Mid September? They will still be summer coyotes, maybe with a tiny bit of extra fuzz.

It's good to get out and whack one, even if they are not worth skinning. Dave has skinned enough he does not need the practice. It is a predator, don't get your undies in a bind that he killed a couple. There is a few left.

I will start in a few weeks... calling that is... by then the adults have some decent fur but not fully primed. MJM you hit it on the head...when our crow season is in I bring out the shotgun and rifle and call. If no yotes show up I'll call crows for a bit...fun shooting.

Very nice.

The first bottles of Coca Cola contained 3.5 grams of cocaine. That's how our grandparents were able to walk to school uphill both ways in the snow.

Panhandle. Nope, Rem 700.
Boco, yep. Population control is all it is.
Sharron, I'm not real photogenic but I did try to spend a bit of time capturing the fog/ sunrise. Thanks.
There is a real ( surreal) moment when calling in heavy fog and they ( just appear).
Thanks for the photo comments all.
cool
