This discussion is also focused on corporations, not small businesses. Corporations are a whole different animal. With very few exceptions, the people at the top of these corporations didn't start the companies they run. I can tell from some of the comments on here, that some of you have never worked for a truly large corporation. The folks in these boardrooms are so far removed from the actual day to day operations, they are completely clueless about what actually goes on. The opposite is also very likely true. The guy on the shop floor hasn't a clue about what the CFO is dealing with. Who should be paid more....the guy who turns a bolt or the guy who is responsible for the financial viability of the company, and all the federal compliance reports that are required quarterly ? Which of these guys actually provides more benefit to the company ? That is the basis on which they should be paid........IMO It is my contention that it is the CFO. They used to make 6 times more than the producers, now they make 400 times more than the producers. We will see how much money the top brass makes for the company when all the production workers walk out.

There has always been the rich and the workers ,, that's the way of the world. Just curious, since you think so little of the auto workers, what's your occupation?

I don't think he thinks little of anybody. The conversation is the job. That job doesn't command the high pay. It's unskilled work.

I think that is where Toyota is light years ahead of Ford & GM.
Toyota's CEO compensation package was only 7 million last year. Go figure.

If your CEO and company are boasting of billion dollar profits every quarter and the employee is stuck making the same thing they’ve made their entire career, why shouldn’t they ask for more? If he can't provide more value to the employer then he isn't worth more money. If he is just tightening the same bolt that he was tightening ten years ago...........what is his true value ? 8n this day and age, if he can pass a drug test, show up every day on time, not afraid of working overtime, not ask for excessive time off and takes pride in his work, he is borderline priceless.

While everyone focuses on diversity of gender or race, what isn't focused upon is simply the diversity of people, IE, there is too much cross-pollination of individuals on each other's boards. It reduces accountability, and (often) gives the CEO's too much compensation with too little accountability for poor leadership.

They don’t even test for pot anymore heck they rarely test unless you’re involved in a accident I hate to tell you this, since you are a Budweiser man, but my lunch consisted of a Schlitz Tallboy. Schlitz had lunch figured out.

They don't drug test like they used to because if they did over half their work force would be gone. They cut back on it hear due to cost. Not just the cost of testing but paying people for several days when their prescription shows up and they send them home and the sample off to the lab for more detail breakdown. I cane to work accepted weekend ot and an out late on Monday so had 64 hrs scedualed. Dumped a finished coil in my first 15 mis of my shift. They sent me to pee meds showed they sent me home. I was off all week and got paid 64 hrs for bring there an hour total. Happened a lot with a work force with a ton of 30 year plus guys. Cost them a lot of money. Very few drug addicts in my plant.
