I wished I had more milk crates! Don't buy the cheap ones, get the heavier ones. They stack easy in storage and in the back of my UTV bed. Something else I found that is great is 2 1/2 gallon buckets. I drill big holes in the bottom so they will drain. What I like is if I need some 1.5's I grab a bucket or three, and simply load them up in the UTV or truck. If you can find the larger milk crates they work good for beaver traps and the larger bodygrips.
I have a friend that has a business that uses 2 1/2 gallon buckets. He gets them for me, with lids, anytime I need them. I use them for dried grass clippings, peat moss, dry dirt, drowning cables, anchoring cables, etc. Sometimes I have to use a pirogue to get to my trapping spots, so the lids on the buckets are nice it keep everything dry and neat.
I used to use totes and got tried of dealing with them. I used to hang my traps and it was a pain to deal with. For the style of transportation and trapping I do I find milk crates and buckets to be the ticket.

When I have used milk crates the chains have fallen through the holes and gotten tangle with the other traps below making a mess. I like totes. Mine have small square holes in the bottom too small for chains to fall through but others put a board, thick plastic, or heavy cardboard in the bottom. Totes aren't durable enough for my liking, I also prefer they aren't so air tight so the traps stay dry and aired out. Shows again there's more than one way to skin a cat.
