Pennsylvanian fisherman, hunters, & trappers don't need any money in their game funds account because they're all up here in New York State scarfing up all our fish, game, & fur !!! I can't take a step around here without tripping over a Pennsylvanian !!! Lake Ontario looks like the Spanish Armada has arrived with all the sailors and vessels of the P.A. navy cruising our waters. They say the Pennsylvania Navy is the largest navy in the world !!!! I believe it !!!! w

In the 2021 - 2022 season, a total of about 40,000 non-resident hunting license were sold in New York. Pennsylvania sold 55,000 non-resident hunting licenses.

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service has notified the agency that money in the Game Fund is considered license revenue, and removing money from the Game Fund as proposed by the bill would likely be unlawful. It was further stated that this could result in the Game Commission becoming ineligible for future receipt of federal Pittman-Robertson funds. PGC Communications Director Travis Lau elaborated on the issue. Read more at: https://www.centredaily.com/sports/outdoors/article279918714.html#storylink=cpy

That might be exactly what the legislature wants hippie. It seems to me that they have been trying to eliminate the PGC in one way or another for decades. The state legislature and various agencies have always had their eyes on the 1.2 million acres of state game lands owned by the PGC also.

If you think about the fact that the feds were trying to eliminate the Pittman-Robertson monies as being exclusively for hunting and fishing type pursuits, this is the same thing. Making it a two pronged attack against Pittman-Robertson. All these legislators see, is all that money that they can't spend, and they want it. If Pennsylvania is no longer receiving their share of this money, where is it going to go? Eventually, it will go into the federal coffers and those legislators will get to disburse that money as they see fit. Soon after that those legislators will decide that no state needs that money, and Pittman-Robertson will be dissolved. But, does anybody think that the tax levy itself will then go away? If you do, I've got a Bridge in Brooklyn I can let go for a reasonable price.

Game commission shouldn't be sitting on 1.5 billion in the bank either. Don't really care if they get it from them, ain't going to change any for the sportsman.

The PA State Legislature wants to get control over the PGC they don't like the way the PGC has so much money to spend and doe not answer to what those elected officials of the state want or think.Go back about 20 years ago remember how the PGC was always asking for a hunting license increase Along came the oil/gas industry and fracking and out of the blue because the PGC so much land is was like to Beverly Hillbillies Up through the ground came the Buffalo crude , black gold texas tea Now the PGC in the drivers seat The other side of the story i however the PGC is motivated by the results of all that cash flow And while that claim to only be interested in doing the right thing for the wildlife of the state .Many are every bit political as any of those elected officials . I am proud of how the outdoorsmen of this state have held all sides account for the way the state has been The hunters trappers and fisherman have been at t he forefront of the conservation wise use of the many programs that pay the bills The PGC landholdings are used by a host of non hunting groups Biking horse back riders bird watchers etc They pay not a cent but somehow demand equal use At te same time we have had a number of corrupt PGC employees that if they get vaught get off with no meaningful punishment There is no easy answer to the question but turning all that land and money to those that have proven they can not trusted to improve on the current way of doing things makes zero cents to any true hunter in this state

I remember. The state legislature tried to starve them out. Like I said above, the greedy SOB's have always had their eye on those million-plus acres of SGL land.
