Absolutely no foreign citizens, or American citizens without extreme vetting, should be allowed to purchase ammunition manufacturers in the US. Foreigners should not be allowed to own any US business of importance, including meat packing plants.

Was in the Academy store in Springfield, Mo. a couple of weeks ago and the ammo shelves were full. They had anything you would want.
Stopped back in day before yesterday (Thursday) and the shelves were half empty. And naturally the herd is panic buying again. So, here we go again.

In a two weeks time we have had happen:
The Lake City plant shutting down civilian sales,
A big fire at the Hornady Plant in Nebraska,
The Israel mess.
The Vista Group got sold outside to foreigners.

That Czech consortium that bought The Vista Group, (Federal CCI etc.) is supplying a lot of the ammo that is getting used in Ukraine. I'd read they were having trouble meeting production demands for that. So, I suspicion their loyalty may not lie with the American shooter/sportsman.

No, I don't consider vetting paying kickbacks. I have more faith in the United States then you do. By vetted i mean an investigation into the potential owner so that anyone found to be an actual or potential security risk to our country, will not be permitted to own the businesses.

Could it be the ones that sold of part of the strategic fuel reserve to China ??? Or ............... Its quite a list.

If they start to pump out ammo and primers, I'm all for someone taking them over.

Kieth I try to be like you I really do but who will ultimately be in charge of the vetting process? Who will run oversight on them? If they get called in front of a congressional inquiry and just tell my senator Ted Cruz "I don't have those numbers or details in front of me today"? Will the judges and justices just refuse to hear the case as in election "irregularities"?

It sticks in my craw, but I am starting to think the 76ers understood their enemies better than we so right now. I hope I am wrong.

Doesnt sound promising especially if military stops producing. Sounds strategic.

Who will prosecute any violations? Will it be the folks who decided Hillary can loose 30k emails and be fine but Trump needs to be raided by agents loaded for bear?

Maybe it will be the folks that decided Hunter Biden didn't need to account for a gun charge. I'm becoming more skeptical as I type.

I've lost faith in the Govt., they couldn't tell the truth if it made a better story! I watch what they do not what they say.

Do you think it would be better to do nothing and let vital US industries become owned and controlled by foreigners and even in some cases enemies like Russia and China?

What's the solution?

Keith I don't think he's against the vetting I just don't think most trust the federal government to do what's in the best interests of this country anymore.

As of right now there is a fair amount of supply out there other than large rifle primes.

True,
Powder is more common at a price, but primers are just about non-existent unless you get lucky and a shipment just came in as you're at the store! lol
