I can't seem to catch a coon anywhere near a chicken but back up 300 yards and put DPs at the bottom of the den trees and I can fill almost every trap.

find the walk way to the chickens from the den area and drop cages in the path and catch some more sort of trail sets , I can't use connies with so many farm cats around

but once they are line of sight to chickens , nothing

can't tempt them even 5 feet out of their way

it might work to let the feeder run dry and put the feed in a pile of DPs all around it , gang set heavy and when you have taken a bunch of coons out without taking too long that the deer stop coming , fill the feeder again.


I don't know how that will work feeding is Illegal here so no feeders.

Day time coon calling will kill a lot of them.

I do better with cage traps near a feeder. Trails coming to feeder I use dp’s

Gummy fruit-flavored lifesavers on the trigger of a DP and one hung on the rim do a decent job of catching coon.

Conibear boxes outperform dog proofs by a large margin for me.

If you can make your feeders coonpoof problem solved. I build my own.

Find the trains coming to the feeder set at least 10-20yd away from it. DO NOT SET DIRECTLY UNDER OR AROUDN THE FEEDER

Years ago I used to put out feeders for the coon filled with old roy dog food. I would keep filling the feeders and pretty soon after about a month, every coon in the area was coming to fatten up and prepare to die. Once season was in full swing I put out 10 220 buckets and wiped out the entire population in that small area. First time I did it it took 5 years before I got a coon there again. This was not intended to take out the entire population everywhere, just for small specific areas where the coon were an issue.

Don't make this more difficult than it is. Stake down DPs all around the feeder. Use big marshmellow on trigger with some KoolAid powder sprinkled in.

Stake 4 or 5 or 6 or 10 plus around a deer feeder and get ready to kill some coons.

Just make a ball of crinkled up tinfoil…shiny side out…and put it inside a small necked bottle with a bit of fish lure inside. The coon will grab the tinfoil ball and won’t let go. He’ll be yours in the morning!
