I know this has been asked before but what do you think is the best value in cordless tools. My dewalt saw and drill are starting to smoke at start up and I need to be looking at another set. This set will be for domestic use and extreme heavy duty is not needed.
All experienced opinions are welcome and appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I have Dewalt and like the tools and am impressed with the battery life they seem to be improving their products constantly tools and batteries I’ll stick with them. I had a Craftsman 19.2 set before that I liked but the batteries had a lot to be desired.

I like rigid purchased at home depot for price , tool availability , options , power and warranty
if I was going pro like when my son started turning a wrench my advice was Milwaukee.
in a lot of ways you are buying a battery platform with tools
watch home depot online for the deals it still counts for the warranty
if you buy rigid not from HD then they don't carry the lifetime warranty you can still get good tools but when they break they break , but if you can get it for 50-70 dollars less on a discount tool site then it may be much worth it.
I have drill 1/2 inch 1/4 hex impact driver circular saw tire inflator - you set it and it auto inflates then shuts off so while doing an oil change you can just keep moving it around while doing other things 2 lights (these come as a package deal with a tool often but very handy they will set on ground and you can adjust where they point) Mid torque 1/2 inch impact -450foot pounds the high torque is like 900 or 1000
I keep eyeing up the 3/8 compact impact or a power ratchet just to more easily get in tighter spots
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I changed from De Walt to Milwaukee and am glad that I did.
Let's go Brandon

I changed from De Walt to Milwaukee and am glad that I did. Me too. DeWalt lost me when the got away from the "18V " platform. Seemed like a good time to tell them to pound sand when I had to buy new tools/batteries anyway.

Bought a Dewalt impact for parting my old trucks out on the road. It has several power settings and it’s very powerful turn it up you might snap a lug they said. Blew up a cheap universal socket with it trying to get my burnt truck bed off. One setting snugs the nut up slowly to avoid damaging it. I toss it in the truck when I’m on the road incase I get a flat.

I'm getting yeoman's service from the Bauer line from Harbor Freight, very reasonably priced, the battery's last well, but their price can make you catch your breath! Well worth it IMO.
