We just sold a bunch of Morgan silver dollars from the 1880's to early 1900's and they surprised us that just ordinary ones averaged in the 45-50 dollar range.

French, German, and Italian. Chances are they were brought back from a military guy during WWII.

tried to keep them straight in pics . Both sides together. The one with 50 and the lady kneeling is "supposed" to be rare.

Some are from the 1980s.

Maybe a traveler or exchanged for "newer" currency?

Take a vacation to each of those countries so you can spend the coins there. The bank can exchange them for their equivalent in American funds fo you.

Pfennig is the German equivalent to penny and a duestchemark is the equivalent to our dollar. The mark is based on the same decimal system as the dollar, 100 pfennings to the mark. They didn't do nickel, dime quarter just XX pfenning. The rare one is the one pfenning as they pretty much round up or down prices to the nearest ten pfenning so the one pfenning coin was taken out of circulation.
That rarity made it imperative that any new GI in Europe get one ASAP. Because when a pfenning check was called for the guy without one bought the next round, lol.
Also german currency was also all coinage exclusively. Their wallets are long wallets with a coin pouch.

But that's no more with the euro.

The others you got are a French frank, an Italian 500 lira and a British 5 schilling.

The British use a weird system not based on 100.

The German marks should be fairly common as they were still on the mark when I left there in 90.

Don't know when the rest switched over to euros but probably about the same time. And if memory serves I don't think the brits ever fully did and since brexit they are off the euro.

Just google the images, you can find approximate values there. Not worth a fortune , but more than face value.

Germany had paper money. I've got some from the early 1900's.

I do seem to recall that but in my time there 88-90 it was all coins that I remember.
