Been trying to fit some hunts in this past week and I decided to take this one late afternoon yesterday. It was a cloudy dreary day one hour till dark, so decide to tag him and get meat cooled down for the night and come back in the morning to pack him out in the morning (today). A 2-mile trip on foot one way and I did it in two trips. I left my sweater and some extra outerwear on the buck to keep yotes away and took a pee.




First trip out I made it the heaviest.
There are a couple great bucks in there, but it is a hard walk in with heavy snow and now mud I'm glad I took a lesser than holding out.

Nice buck! Wish we had a few more big mulies on this side of the state. They just don’t get enough age on em before they die. The elk hunters come here and either do or don’t get an elk but they all go home with a two point mule deer. Congratulations on your buck looks like you earned him the old fashioned way.

Very nice Snowy. Just something about a symmetrical mule deer that no white tail can match. The muley is majestic looking while the whitetail is sneaky and deceitful looking

The only reason I said a lesser is because I see a lot of better scoring bucks than this one. It is a great buck and not wanting to saying it isn't, it is I just compare more because I see better than the one, I took. Earlier in the week I blew an opportunity on a better scoring buck, so I know what top tier is.

I have a tag left to fill so I hope to get after that one starting early next week.
