I took the pooch for a walk and came out with 17 between us!! What do you guys use? I used repel and I think they like it. LOL I also had to dig one out of my shoulder that left quite a welt. How should it be treated?

I hadn't sprayed my hunting cloths this year my first day out chasing birds 6 ticks , 3 had to be pulled with a tweezers and that was on me the next week 3 none needing pulling because I checked as soon as I got home
last week none

Same here. I had ticks climbing all over me last year after the first day of rifle season so I went straight to tractor supply and bought a jug of it. That ended the ticks to my amazement.

X 3, works good. I give the dogs Credelio, a monthly chewable tablet for fleas and ticks. We come back from a hunt and pick dozens of ticks off them every time but I've never had one attached to them.
Eh...wot?

…ticks to got eat too i guess … I’ve had so many tick bites in my life I imagine I’m immune to anything they can give you
… as far as the welt you’re talking about it’ll eventually go away
Insert profound nonsense here

Seems that the Sawyer's permethrin is what Ill try. The pooch is on meds that the ticks dont embed in him. But darn if they dont love me!
They seem to be worse than usual this year to me. I dont remember ever having to worry about them as a kid...must be global warming!

you can save a lot of money if you don't mind mixing
that sawyer ready to use spray is 24ounces 0.5% for 18.99 79 cents an ounce
if you get a 32 oz bottle of 13.3% 24.99 at tractor supply it makes 5.8 gallons 3.3cents an ounce at 0.5% that is considered the sever infestation dosage
any place that sells farm and vet supplies has it , chewy is even selling it now.
I have had really good luck with mixing at the 1 ounce of 13.3% permethrin to 1 gallon of water , then it makes 32 gallons of 0.1% even if you bumped that up to 2 ounces per gallon it would make 16 gallons of 0.2%
if you can mix you can save $$$$
you can also use it to treat your dog kennels , around your foundation , windows , doors , it is basically an all around insecticide.
I use a 2 gallon sprayer and make a batch a year maybe 2 if I spray around the house a few times hand all the cloths you want to treat on the line and spray , let them dry do it about once a month during the warm months and went years since I had a tick on me while wearing treated cloths. would get them all the time before
my cloths line had a tree limb fall on it and break it so I didn't do any spraying of cloths this year just around the house and wish I had treated all my hunting cloths because getting those buggers pulled from your under arm is no fun when they are dug in.
you can also soak the cloths in the solution if you don't want to invest in a sprayer but it is handy to keep it mixed up on the shelf in the garage
