"NO POLITICS" This rule gets violated daily on here, multiple times a day. Sometimes they don't get axed, if people don't start name calling and remain respectful , and it can be a learning experience. Most go off the rails into personal attacks. I also believe when people realize they posted some factually incorrect nonsense and get busted on it, they post something to to get a thread axed so the world doesn't get to see how ignorant they are. JMHO.

The same couple people are the ones who have a differing, usually wrong or demagoguing opinion Of the others every time they post, and it always causes a dust up.
Just my opinion
There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

And some posts go on for pages upon pages covering clearly political topics like Israel. It's curious, but not my site. Not my rules. I'm just here to help out where I can. My theory is this: Paul has a rule against political posts that don't involve hunting, fishing, or the Second Amendment. The rule is subject to discretionary enforcement. Paul sometimes lets some of these threads go on for a while, until incivility erupts. Once the insults, name-calling, and mud-slinging starts, the thread goes poof. I don't think he wants this forum to be used as a place to drive wedges between trappers. This is my theory, only--not something Paul ever told me. Whenever a thread goes poof, I assume that someone violated the "no flaming" rule. Someone who either can't control himself, or else is deliberately trying to get the thread deleted for some reason. Paul used to run the forum somewhat differently years ago. The "no politics" rule was strictly enforced. Paul made me a moderator on Trapper Talk with instructions to zap every political post as soon as they got started. This proved to be a wildly unpopular approach, with most of the posters' ire directed at the moderator. I soon resigned. No one would follow the rules, and everyone blamed me because they didn't like them. My personnel management skills were not up to the task of moderating a bunch of trappers. Since Paul assumed moderator tasks himself, things have gone more smoothly. I just have to resist making long posts. Jim

Just my opinion I’m still trying to figure out if the irony is real, fake, intentional or some kind of disorder it’s almost funny at times (almost)

Jim, if you need to post something long and complicated, try and find a website that explains it for you. Copy and paste it. It doesn't hurt as bad as when the thread gets axed or already has been and you have np place to post it. IMHO it is lot less work and not nearly so frustrating.
Feel free no ignore my advice.

So, who is ready for trapping season?
We have firearms deer season starting tomorrow. Ready to catch a big old doe.
What was the thread about, I missed it? Anything of actual importance? I was working?
Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!
Gordon Ramsey, maybe…
