if your plowing the 40acre in 30 minutes , go send the guy with the smaller plow to start getting all the parts you can't turn the big plow around in at 11 mph plowing 60 feet wide
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I hate word problems. The obvious answer that jumps out is 45 minutes if they each do their own half of the field. But I don't think that's the right answer.
The first guy works twice as fast as the second guy does so it stands to reason that he will complete 2/3 of the field and the second guy will complete only 1/3 if they work together. Which means it would still take 40 minutes which is longer than it would take the first guy to do it on his own and is why I hate team projects, lol.
I don't freaking know, what's the answer? LOL

Yote, believe you are on the right track. Farmer a is twice as fast so he does 2/3 of the combined field. Farmer B does the other 1/3. It takes each of them 20 minutes to complete their parts. So, if they start at the same time it will take 20 minutes.

In 1 hour combined they knock out 120 acres or 2 acres per minute. At 2 acres per minute it would take 20 minutes.
