Fully legalize cannabis for those 21 & over and tax the heck out of it... Set it up for craft small grows so many farmers can benefit...No corporate ventures.
Anything harder than grass not prescribed by a physician = death penalty, no exceptions.
Do this today, and things turn around tomorrow.
You're high. Lol.

The states that have legalized cannabis tax the heck out of it at the wholesale level.
I believe Alaska has a 100 percent tax. Pot isn't legal in ID, but I believe next door Washington state taxes it hard too.

It's a crazy notion that people will seek help to stop doing drugs.
They do drugs because they like doing drugs, why would they want to stop?
As cruel as it may sound, they will probably eliminate themselves from being a problem to the rest of us in due time.

Seen on the news just this morning that China is lacing weed with some kind of drugs to dumb down smokers.
Making it easier to take over the country. My words not fox news.

Taxing the heck out of it thinking it'll bring in a ton of money in tax revenue is a joke Your state "Michigan" brought in 350 million & Illinois 445 million in 2022. I haven't seen those stats and you probably pulled them off some pro dope site or government agency.People aren't going to pay ridiculous amounts of money for something they can grow for free.Taxing it at a high rate is counter productive.

Marijuana and psychedelics should already be legal.
I'd be fine legalizing the rest, but we should eliminate welfare, social services and gun laws at the same time. This brings up a couple of the issues we disagree on, you and I. If we were to eliminate welfare and social services, what do you suppose would happen to the people who are dependent on those programs? Maybe the urban streets would over-flow and you'd start finding them in your barns. You don't expect them to suddenly go find jobs, do you? People who don't even know how "work" is spelled? Would you hire them? I think we need better social welfare, which--to attract competent people--means better wages and thus more tax money. I know you'd love that part. There. Now that I've shown them how a real liberal thinks, maybe they'll stop throwing that intended insult your way. You, BC, are much more libertarian than liberal. Jim

Most probably won't. Churches and non-profits can step in for those who want help. I know it's anecdotal, but every week I see the OKCFD responding to overdoses. Multiple time a week and in downtown OKC. These occur within blocks of homeless and addiction prevention resources. Drugs are illegal and the safety net isn't working. I don't mean to sound cruel, but it's time to try nature. And thank you for the Libertarian nod. They'll still call me a liberal. I tried to explain in a now deleted post a few weeks ago that you are a liberal and not a leftist.

A good democrat never looks at the results to decide if what they did is good or bad. If it doesn't work out you just blame it on something else or justify it by another means. Never seen even legalizing Marijuana be a good thing for the community. It is way more nefarious than that. It is not only intentional, it is nearly a mandate of the democratic party. They want the populace dumbed down. Nothing works better than weed for that. Dumb voters are easily swayed. Pot smokers won't vote for a republican who is not beating the pro-weed drum.

Actually got those from the respective state tax revenue reports...People are buying from dispenseries because they are now afraid of the black market weed being laced with fentanyl...Plus, they test for mold, lead and other contaminants. Not everyone can grow quality cannabis....There is some science involved and it's tedious....Anyone can grow ditch weed.
