Winchester Model 70 , Mfg.1969, 30-06 with Older Leuopold Scope

I’d say $800-$1000 in my opinion. There’s some Winchester guys on here that should be able to help. I know where there’s 2 pre 64s for sale both with Leupolds for $1200-$1400 both in 30-06.

Post 64 winny, 30_06 with an old Leopold scope, 600 tops.

Without more details, the Leupy appears to be a fixed power 32 mm so $150. The rifle being a post 64 push feed is about $400-500.

So, I know very little about guns but that the same as the Winchester Ranger???

The Winchester "Ranger" was their cheap one with Birch stock and blind magazine.

Pre 64 verses Post 64. Where do ones made in 1964 get put?

Thanks 160. I have a ranger but i can't see the model #. It is plain Jane like you said. It is a heavy gun and was an accurate killing machine. I haven't shot it in 20 years.

I have a 770 Winny made in 1969. Wouldn't you know it was an economy model

I think people just ask if it’s a pre64, not post. But I live in Canada, they all get put in the safe…lol

I believe that may be one of the least desirable years. But, I'm no expert.

I have several 670's and they too were economy models but still shoot well.





They are "post 64". At a glance, the quickest way to tell is if the serial number starts with a G, it is post 64 although 64, 65 and possibly 66 did NOT have the G prefix.

That is a $600 rifle in this pocket of the world.

I don't know about the rifle, but old optics aren't worth much; the newer scopes are noticeably better. It partly depends on which scope it is, but I'd guess no more than fifty bucks or so.

I'd say rifle / scope combo like that - $450 -$500 ..
As long as the bore is clean and crisp / no rust ..

I haven't seen a Winchester model 70 sell for 5-6 hundred for years.

I sold my 1970 model 70 in 7mm mag with a Weaver fixed 4 power on it for 1400. about ten years ago

I need to start selling you guys some post 64 model 70's I guess.
