I have heated the house with wood over 20 years and made a living for a while cutting them down. Of course I rate them highly. It gets a lot colder out there than here to boot. I sure would not like relying on electricity for heat.

Hahahaha. No seriously, there are trees outside of the Black Hills and the major river bottoms (well, a couple of the river bottoms" but often a lot of no treed land in the Dakotas.

I've hunted close to NE SD just this side of the border when I was living on the east side of ND at a waterfowl refuge (Tewaukon) that the state opens to upland hunting the Monday after gun deer closes. It can be a quick hunt..
