All I can say is if a pocket knife is to inconvenience to carry you know the man is never going to have a pistol on him either.

Probably always has a gun handy everywhere he needs is lol. Does not understand the difference between having to take steps to get a tool vs having said tool at hand always.
When I need to shoot something there is not time to go grab a gun it must be on you. But a city person just won't understand a time you would need a gun and wouldn't have it on you because the only time the get out where they can shoot would be to shoot something. It would not be walking around the barn doing daily activities and seeing a coon, fox, coyote, or skunk unexpectedly that needs shot now.

Farm life vs city life.

Your right I wasn't. Tho I have relatives that are retired farmers and I have spent considerable time on Farms when younger. I have said many times I'd rather hire a farm boy than a college boy because of the attitude, skill set and work ethic.

All that being said that is not unique to Farmers, Its has a much higher representation there tho. There are those out there that have same qualifications in lots of fields especially any field that requires one to use their heads and hands to make things and get things done. People in these other fields also carry tools and knowledge in their heads that are the result of decades of practice. Knowledge is more handy than a tool at times.

Don't assume ones abilities on whether they carry a pocket knife or not.

Farms attract all sorts of critters. I live in Farm country but not on a farm. I run across the occasional critter tho to me they are of little bother. Rarely do I have the need to deal with a critter. No need for me to carry a gun then tho I have a bunch in the house.

Farm life Vs rural life vs city life. All require different tools and skills.

I have a personal bias against guys who carry a pocket knife, won't wear shorts and were raised on a farm.

That a people who don't dress up somewhat for church, funerals and special occasions.

Pretty much where I am at. I sure won’t pass on a big buck, but if I want to shoot spikes, button bucks, or does and it’s legal, they are getting shot. I like a smaller one every now and then even. Not still with mama small, but close.

Yes to me having a sharp pocket knife on me always. Kind of like other tools that are carried.

If I don't have a knife (mine is on my Kershaw multi tool) on me, I feel naked.
If I am in a situation where a knife is needed, and I didn't have one, I would rather have showed up naked, and for the record, I don't look good naked anymore.
Personally I judge a man by how many fishing knots he knows how to tie. If it is zero, I will make a point to show him at least one good one so that he won't get picked on the rest of his life.

A lot of crap irritates me ...

Dudes showing up to do business wearing flip flops , dudes in subarus , dog lovers , dog lovers who pick up dog poo and carry it around in a baggie , dog lovers who think I should love their stupid mutt like they do , Pretty girls with fishing lures in their face , ugly girls get a pass because, well because they're ugly already , Bicycle riders riding in the middle of the road , fruit cakes , fruit cakes riding bicycles in the middle of the road , libtards who think guns kill people , do gooders , do gooders who lick the boots of anyone in government .......

I can't live without my folding razor bladed utility knife on my person ......so there's that

Once you decide to carry a knife , you'll wonder how you ever went without one

I see that a lot in my neighborhood. Sorry, I didn't even do that with my kids, and they are humans and my biological flesh. Some people can't live without dogs. I've had dogs, I've loved dogs, and I can live without dogs.

Primadonna’s preaching hunting ethics or standards that have no based on conservation or regulation tick me off. If the herd is not compromised then sit in the corner quietly.

Our mule deer herd is at 48% of average. I would consider that compromised. A youth hunter shooting dink bucks is fine and dandy but an adult shooting a dumb 2 point next to the road not so much.

So stop the whole hunting season

Sounds like the wolves and bears need thinning out.
