I don't touch anything inside the cavity if a deer is gut shot or stomach gets busted when field dressing(haven't done any of that in years but my brother and dad like to do so apparently). Really aren't losing anything if you do so other than the tenderloins and liver if your so inclined I agree. Take off the meat doing the gutless method.
swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

Also consider deer was not dead that whole time, either. I was thinking the same. That deers fine, hard to get the gut stench out once it’s popped. Once you get the hide off he’ll be fine. Most of the cuts are encased anyway and if they’re not just trim them well. Good luck and good job retrieving your deer

I'd make coyote bait out of the inner loin and liver- it might already be tainted.

Yep. Your fine. Gut smell is just hard to get rid of. yup gets stuck in your nose all day on road kill with busted guts as most seem to. I sacrifice the tenderloins and everything else can be taken without opening the gut at all

Jumped him and could tell he was sick.
You would look sick too if someone just gut shot ya.Clean the meat up and it should be fine.
