What's the ice fishing rules on Cusk ?

How many Cusk lines?

Can you let them soak ovah night ?

What sinkah and length of line ..from hook to sinkah ?

No more than 5 lures or bait per line, you must be in attendance of your lines, no more than 15 hook points per line. Not sure about how many cusks, but limited to 7 tip ups per person.

I do not know of any cusk or burbot in NYS

Lake champlain has cusk

Black River Bay & Chaumont Bay have lots during the winter
and the deep waters of Lake Ontario are loaded with the things.

Poor man's lobster. I heard they taste great.

Here in NH....we can set 6 cusk lines.....1 Oz weight , then from the weight ,only 6 inches of line allowed to the hook.

And they can soak ovah night ...unattended.

Name & Address must be on the stick.

We always go to shore and cut some hemlock branches .....to stick in the hole ,as a marker, in case a foot of snow shows up.

If any other fish ( other than cusk ) the line must be cut ....and release the fish,without taking it out of the hole.

We have caught burbot in Black River bay just below the Dexter boat launch and bait shop.

Friend of mine saw a guy catch one in the st Lawrence river and traded him a walleye for the burbot…. Said it was good eating ….
