Roy love the natural xmas tree versus farmed trees. A plus is if you hang tinsel they hang down instead of laying on top of thick branches

Ditto - when we lived in the UP, we'd go into the woods and cut our own. Ours looked very similar to Roy's.

We have been doing work on the upstairs, so the wife only has a couple up so far. Usually, the house is decorated top to bottom but this year my room is the only one finished.

Paul, as a life long U.P. resident I can relate to what you are saying. When I was a kid it was a family event to go out and try to find the perfect tree. We always preferred a balsam because of the wonderful odor.

Um, no offense to anyone else on here, but your house appears to be breathtaking to me! blush

When we had no money I'd cut a red cedar for a christmas tree, aside from the funny smell and the drooping branches when you hung an ornament, it sorta looked like a christmas tree, lol.

My grandmother would just snap a branch off a spruce and jam it into a flower pot, couple ribbons and done!!! the original Charlie Brown tree.... grin

Bought trees cost a 1/2 a weeks pay, self cut trees are Charley Brown Specials, all scraggly.

How much do Christmas trees cost in your area?

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

$5 here, just got home from cutting it. 4500 feet in the cascades about a foot of very wet snow. Fun day with the wife and dog. Now she can decorate it once I get the stand on it. She didn’t know I had beaver castors drying on the stand. Whoops
