A very early picture of David Johnson in his natural habitat - riding and enjoying one of the many early sleds that came out of the plant in Roseau, MN.

David was the plant manager for most of his career and continued to go back and check up on the people working there even after he retired.

The whole, amazing story of Polaris and the Polaris race team is a result of this mans influence on everyone he came in contact with.

Yup, I remember plenty of those old Polaris snowmobiles. 2 of my uncles had them and used them to bobcat hunt with hounds during winter on the Tug Hill Plateau and Adirondacks. Back then NY had a $25 bounty on cats. But they had the bigger models, would pull dog box on skis and several hunters.

I dont know anything about snow machines but I bet if he had been my grandpa I'd have wanted to visit every weekend a winter long!

Back in the '70's several sprint car drivers around here raced on factory snowmobile teams in the off season for dirt racing. I bought an ex-Polaris race sled once from one of them.

AMF was another snowmobile factory several drove for.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.
