Someday someone might find something but its hard to improve a Newhouse! ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/12/full-18204-199152-bill_link.jpg) Just found this Newhouse No.0 on an old rotten pole set. Must be from legendary 1935 Armpit trapper and mink rancher Bill Link . Bidding starts at 1000 dollars.
Who is John Galt?

Boco will be along shortly to tell y'all how wonderful it is. Well it did save the fur market. Ask Boco if you don't think so. But, don't look at the prices.

100% agree with the AIHTS,and have always backed the development, testing and use of the most humane methods and tools to improve humane harvest of furbearers which we did long before the AIHTS adopted our humane methods as standards..

I would like to go on record to state that I definitely do not want anymore government regulations shoved on us trappers. I know that I brought this subject up a while ago and it probably looked like I did at the time but I assure you it was not my intention.
My thoughts and intentions were to somehow educate new trappers on how to modify their traps to catch and hold in a more humanly way if possible to give the antis less ammo against us.

I worked on BMP trap testing, did it their way first week, didn't catch anything, flimsy traps can't operate in MUD. Did my way the next week and caught several grey fox which were the target as well as some toe caught coyote's in 1.5 soft catch's and such.
Bottom line is a trap in the hands of a old fur trapper is different than handing the same trap to some first year trappers, setting too close to entanglement, not aware of trap bedding materials that work in frozen/muddy ground, list goes on. So the same trap can get all sorts of different results depending on who it is doing the study. Thus results are worthless in my opinion.

To many variables in the field, some that can change from hour to hour, to meet any sort of scientific testing model.
