Use YouTube it has lots of good DIY info there I subscribe to zero channels to go along with my zero apps. Honestly if I need an app to use something I just do without it. If you follow a channel it will regularly post on the cover page when you go there after a while it goes away then if you stop following it.

Guess I am way below average, I just counted my subscriptions: 32. You should be able to count me twice Bernie as I always watch your videos 2x. WS

The only time I watch them is when someone posts them on here. I check for content to make sure they're appropriate for here .

Just read a stat that the average person who watches youtube is subscribed to about 100 channels.
Guess I am way below average, I just counted my subscriptions: 32. I'm using Youtube a LOT less now that they don't allow ad blockers. It's such a PITA to watch stuff now with all the ads interrupting the videos. And the ads are mostly for junk and snake oil. Un-subbed from about a dozen channels so far.

FYI You can subscribe to YouTube Red which blocks all the ads, it's not that much. I do and never see any ads, it makes for a much better viewing experience for sure. Youtube just started increasing the number of mid-roll ads interrupting in the middle of my videos, which I hate but it does ad a little to the bottom line. I'll be watching the analytics to see how many people click away once those ads come on. Of they do, I'll eliminate them.

That 100 channels seems way high to me. I know on my channel there are at least ten times the people who watch videos on a semi-regular basis as there are subscribers. The sub number only really matters when you are starting out and trying to meet requirements for monetization. Beyond that it is more of a metric to kind of gauge how the channel is doing, although there are much better metrics for that. I know people with channels that have barely over 1000 subs that are absolutely killing it because of their view numbers and retention rates which has brought them some super sweet affiliate deals. A lot of that also depends on what niche you are in too.
All that being said, I don't know a single YouTuber who doesn't get a little happy when they see the sub numbers going up! Yup I check it every morning. I add 6-12 new subs a day roughly. Had a huge day earlier in the month where I added 79. Not really sure what happened there. Probably someone shared one of my videos on a website or forum.

I watch alot of you tube, in fact I pretty much never watch anything else. I subscribe to none, I have never left a comment.
I'm not average, I've known that since I was a kid. Same here, I hardly watch any TV anymore but I watch way too much YouTube. I never like comment or subscribe. I watch mostly woodworking, gun and music on it, but I often also get sucked into completely unrelated topics too.
