Not for the coming apocalypse, that is, but for Christmas?

I took this week off work and have been busy with decorating, wrapping, baking, etc.

What sort of Christmas preparations are going on in your houses this week?

Well the Mrs is making cookie dough. She stores it in the freezer and will pull it out this Saturday and have a Bake-a-thon with the grandkids.
I sent all packages and cards for out of town friends and kinfolk out already so I've been slowly wrapping presents for family here.
Haven't figured out what the main meal will be for Christmas yet but I'll be the one doing the cookin'

Yep!!!!!!

Got fresh 100's at the bank and those fancy envelopes to put them in! lol. That covers the kids and their spouses. The woman gets for the grandkids.

Today, I went to an Amish shoe store and got her some slippers, and I have a gift card from a furniture store. I know better than to pick out her furniture!!

I will probably go fishing or possibly pheasant hunting. Other than that I have no plans.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Going to my daughters this year. Lori and me are getting off easy. Kids are doing everything

Christmas is a big deal here. We love it! House is full of decorations, trees and gifts. We have family arriving tomorrow from out of state. Lots of baking cookies and candy making planned for Friday. We'll have a full house with her family on Christmas Eve and mine on Christmas. We do a BIG Christmas breakfast and lots of snacks like pickle wraps, smokies, cheese dips... etc....

Haha, the Christmas tree was put up Halloween day! Granddaughter is 2 and loves Christmas so the tree went up. All gifts have been wrapped and out since before Thanksgiving. We’re on a cruise now and come back 3 days before Christmas. We told the kids their presents will be here whenever they decide to drop by. We don’t have plans for lunch yet, may end up going out.

I'll probably not check traps that day, unless conditions are good, Why people put Christmas in the middle of trapping season has always baffled me?

Couple more gifts to go. One shiny thing, video games, and stocking stuffers. But looking great.

We didn't even break out the fake tree this year. Probably, just going to be a long weekend around here. Will eat a few extra carbs and go fishing, maybe.

Yotetrapper, we have a lot going on here. The tree is done and the village beneath it is in progress. We were a little slowed down after the health issues last year and hardly got anything finished, so just to get ahead, we cut our smallest Christmas tree ever for this house. It's a seven foot Frasier fir and it saved me a ton of time because I didn't need a huge ladder to decorate it!

I was just wrapping presents for Zim, and he was calling from work to ask me if I needed more wrapping supplies for all of his gifts. He offered to bring a trailer full home. laugh I have family gifts to wrap, some cookies to bake (that are actually to give away) and a tiny bit of shopping left to do. Not too bad!

Meanwhile, I have some year end invoicing and final tasks for clients, so I'm switching gears a lot.

I hope all is well with you. Sounds like you've got it under control!

Merry Christmas to you and yours, and to everyone here!
Patrice

I get to have all my kids and grandkids together at moms this year on the 23rd, my shopping is done mostly gift cards or money for season passes those type things. Working on my dinner menu now.

Dinner this year will actually be served as a 4 course dinner if I can pull it off for 16 people ( 9 adults and 7 grandkids 13-5 ):

1st course
French onion soup or the olive garden soup ( the one with potatoes and kale and sausage )

second course
shrimp cocktail

third course
spinach salad with a warm bacon mustard dressing with garlic bread

forth course
smoked rib roast
baked potato
baked beans (maybe)
broccoli casserole
roasted brussels sprouts with bacon and balsamic

fifth course
dessert but I'm not making it

we will have deviled eggs and a meat /cheese tray out prior maybe a spinach dip too.
