Around here the Jewish headstones get a small stone, I've seen that practice spreading to other cemeteries.. Basically an acknowledgement that someone visited..

I leave a coin on certain graves I visit some also receive a fish hook or small spinner, maybe a rifle case depends on the relationship I had with the friend gone.

I've seen coins glued down to gravestones. Epoxy maybe. I figured someone had glued them down for a good reason. Lots of kids go to graveyards, Memorial Day, funerals and such. It would be just like a kid to scoop up a coin just like they would from the ground. Makes sense why they are glued down I guess.
