Just returned from selling my small pile of
Fall pelts to Gary Groenewold at Adams, N.Y.
from 10:30AM to 11:30AM.

There were around 12-14 pickup trucks of trappers waiting to sell

I was 1st in line with 16 fall rats put up as follows:

4 2XL @ $4.00
6 1XL @ $2.50
3 LG @ $1.50
3 MD @ .75 cents

1 Large-Medium put up mink @ $5.00.

22 November 5th nuisance
green skinned/frozen coon as follows:

1 @ $12.00
11 @ $ 6.00
8 @ $2.00
2 @ no value.

Took back the 2 "no value" small coon to give away
for some tanning/wall hanger project.

Probably a couple 300+ beaver were sold by others.
80% was greenskinned/frozen with the following breakdown:

2XL @ $32.00
1XL @ $20.00
Lge @ $12.00
Med@ $10.00
SM @ $5.00

Otters put up:

@ $35.00
@ $30.00
@ $20.00

Fisher put up:
@ $40.00
@ $30.00
@ $20.00

Castor Dried @ $20.00 a Lb.
Castor Wet/frozen @ $10- $15 a Lb.

Saw a group of skinned but green coyotes
which Gary declined to buy.

Couple trappers had upwards of 75 to 100 beaver.

Saw very few no sales.

The long Ryder Truck looked to be about 1/3rd to half full
mostly with beaver.

That's my report.

Much thanks to Gary Groenewold for offering
New York State Trappers yet another
fair, timely, and convenient selling option.

GROENY ROCKS !!!! laugh

Did not see Gary weigh any beaver today.

Last spring I saw one trapper bring in
packets of multiple put up beaver pelts
which I saw Gary weighing and paying by weight.

You would not want to see a video of my face today
with my Bell's Palsied mugshot.

I look like Billy-Bob Thorton as "Sling Blade"
cross-bred with the banjo picking porch-boy from "Deliverance" !!! shocked

The beaver prices are at least a little encouraging

Save them for Toby, I think you'll do better. Unless you really need the money NOW!

Agreed. If you finish your beaver you'll always do better at FHA. Just gotta decide if your time is worth it. Last two sales I averaged $40+ on 70 some. They were mostly very nice winter beaver. Then you have commission. Is it worth the extra work? That's what you have to decide. I enjoy putting up my fur.

Yes, I send all my beavs and fisher to FHA. If I needed the money “now “ I’d do something different than trap. Lol

$40+ on beaver that are fleshed is considerably better than $15.60 average green. All depends on how much work you want to do. But $25 to flesh a beaver is a pretty good return for 15 minutes.
