I probably won't read that one, but agree that it's good to read/listen/learn from multiple perspectives. Only reading/listening/learning from sources you already agree with is for dumdums, plain and simple. Confirmation bias doesn't make you smarter, just the opposite. I have lots of books, some I like and some that I absolutely disagree with. I keep all my books for my kids to read too, I encourage them to read multiple sources and form their own thoughts (with my strong guidance, of course). I just read a book about Christian anarch-primitivism that was written by a complete moron, but it was still interesting to get the guy's (poorly thought out) perspective. I also listen to a lot of podcasts. Some of them are right up my alley. Some of them are very neutral and just informative. I disagree with the host and guests on the rest of them but it is still good for the brain. You do not know what you do not know and it is only opposing points of view that show you that. It is the same reason to change the news channel throughout the evening/morning. It is also why I change the channel in my office alternating between business channels during the day. Ideas can be different and that is good! Straight out of the " fence rider handbook" ............lol.....useless

Educating yourself is good, why the mental block on educating yourself on why/how the establishment is stomping on our system of govt once Trump challenged them B.C.?
There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

I covered this above. I listen to and read lots of different material--including pro Trump material.

And Dan Bongino? What are your thoughts on him?
And Nicole Parker? What about her?

And Nicole Parker? What about her? I like bongino. He's on when I'm at work so I don't listen a lot, but I put him on when I'm on test drives and he has a lot of good things to say. Never heard of the other one though.

Since BC has not responded, can we assume his knowledge of either Bongino or Parker is thin.........so his claim of hearing both sides falls flat. He hears what he wants to hear.
Bongino........has an interesting history. NYC cop.....turned Secret Service agent under the Bummer then ran for US Senate from MD. He has been exposed to and knows stuff the rest of us don't. Shares some of it when he can. He was also an investor in Parlor and experienced first hand how the democrats operate. After twitter kicked trump off, Trump migrated to Parlor and Jeff Bezos......aka, Mr. Amazon simply shut it down. Parlor ran on Amazon servers, as does most of the Internet. Bongino learned, is now an investor and owner of Rumble........an alternative to utube. In addition to all the rest, is also a book publisher. All this at about age 45. A conservative icon that has no use for democrats and for good reason. Has seen them operate up close and personal. As per Bongino......Biden is as stupid as he looks and he and his entourage are as corrupt as they come.
Bongino is also from Queens, NY. Grew up there.........as did Trump. Unless and until you have heard Bongino explain what it was like growing up in Queens, you do not understand Trump.
Nicole Parker.........was working for Merrill Lynch in WTC on 9-11. Rather than joining military as so many kids of that age did, she chose a different path. She decided her talents could best be utilized in the FBI. Joined and became Special Agent Nicole Parker. Served in that role for 12 years, until about a year ago, had had enough and quit. Except did not go quietly into the night. She would represent rank and file FBI.......the one's everyone says are the good ones. She took training serious and is by the book. Consider her a whisteblower. What she has to say about double standards and corruption at highest levels is breathtaking. None of them would survive the same level of scrutiny they apply to others. There is a house cleaning coming.
When Trump says FBI needs an overhaul........it will be people and agents like Parker doing the cleaning. Can't come soon enough.
Of course we are now talking policy vs. personality. If you can't get past the personality...........well..............
Easy to vote your way into socialism, but impossible to vote your way out of it.

[quote=Blaine County]I listen to books on my drives between Oklahoma and New Mexico. I finished a good one yesterday, Oath and Honor by Liz Cheney. You may not agree with the author, but that does not mean you should not give it a read/listen.
Different perspectives are good for the brain--I have a RFK, Jr. book queued up next. She ruined her political career by standing up for her convictions and, in her opinion, the country and Constitution. You may disagree with her but that does not make her a phony or a liar. She ruined her political career because she had an irrational hatred of Trump. He was mean to her daddy, and she couldn't let it go. That was her only personal conviction.

Y'all should stop being so afraid of opposing views and books. You can read both and simply ignore them if you do not disagree. But, you might just find that they make you use your brain instead of simply regurgitating what you've been told to believe on the internet. Everything you write seems to be a roundabout way of telling anyone who will listen just how bright you are. It ain't workin'.

Back to the book review. History is already revealing that the January 6 commission was prejudice and fraudulent! It is not going down well with all involved! Liz Cheney was one of the leaders and suffers from TDS because Trump called out her Dad!. Same reason Romney hates Trump.
Wife: That's the 4th time you've gone back for dessert, doesn't that embarrass you? Me: No, I keep telling them it's for you.

Oath and Honor, that's rich. "Oath and Honor" in Liz's world is more like Smoke and Mirrors.

An opposing view of honesty, truth, and conservative small government is what has this country in the chit hole it is currently in. I don’t think Trump is the answer to ALL this country's problems. However, he is the closest person we have available. James and BC, you both own firearms. If the 3 Scotus members Trump appointed had instead been appointed by Hillary or similar, where do you think we would be? I would like to point out that the scotus ruling overturning Roe means previous scotus rulings on the 2nd amendment could also be overturned by future courts! Be careful what you wish for guys.

The one bright spot in the years since 2020 has been the SCOTUS 2A wins. All thanks to Donald J Trump. Roe V. Wade being overturned eclipsed everything else.

But, you might just find that they make you use your brain instead of simply regurgitating what you've been told to believe on the internet. It's not the opposing viewpoint that's the problem in this case. The premise that she was standing up for her convictions and the Constitution is patently false. She was/is being vindictive to "avenge" her father. The country and Constitution was just a lame excuse to cover her real intention. If you believe anything else, you are either and idiot or blind.
