Closest thing I have is a real 45 caliber Tommy Gun from 1965.

Johnny Seven OMA. One Man Army. I had one of them. Got it for Christmas, probably in about 64.
I laid low many a German soldier with one of those. Probably some Japs too.

No bayonet? Lol. Pretty cool toy.

If that, or one very similar, came back on the market at a reasonable price, if there would be record sales ? or very little interest ? or outlawed ?

Also wonder what the price was and if it was even barely affordable for most kids/families of the day.

Those were made for kids who grew up to be men the good days

Dad wouldn't buy me them fancy toy guns, so I built them out of scrap wood.

I had a brown plastic M94 Winchester when I was about 4-5 years old

didn't shoot anything but it made noise when you pulled the trigger. perfect for watching westerns on the TV. like the Rifleman.

My boys, along with the other neighborhood boys, have full auto orbeez guns, they have full out wars in the basement.

No grenade launchers, though.

Mine gave me real ones by that age.

Couldn't play army in the back yard with real guns. Someone had to hold off the saturday afternoon nazi invasion.

I was lucky enough to get a cap rifle that was a good replica of the model 71 Winchester with the bolt peep. I killed a lot of imaginary game and outlaws with that one.

We had apple wars.Spear an apple on the end of a stick and whip it at the enemy.

I had a "Shootin' Shell" belt buckle when I was a kid. Google it!

we had garage sale tennis rackets and crab apples to hit at each other and well. about any where else also

We just shot eachother with BB guns and whistling bottle rockets.
