I say "pulled the hide off it" to eliminate the dilemma.
I have nothing clever to put here.

Like some people call a lynx a link, unless there is more than one then they call it links. One link two links. As the Devil's adjective, irregardless of all intensive purposes, I cannot in good conscience, accept the bastardization of the Queen's English (especially by one of her sworn servants), by somehow changing an "X" into a "K" to justify such a travesty to human language. My disdain for such matters is not limited to the Canadians. I also have issue with Pennsylvanians (and other localized miscreants) who refer to the plural of White-tailed does and bucks as "We saw 3 doe and two buck." While on the topic, I have issue with the spelling of the word "creek" as "crick." One can say "crick" all they want. All a responsible citizen could ask, is that you just don't spell it that way for the good of mankind. I apologize to anyone who now feels as though they have been shun. That was not my intention.

I am so sick of grammatically correct , politically correct , the re-writing of definitions , 20 words to replace one so that we can soft speak around stuff.
if they can use un-alived all over the place in stuff
I am going to use Dead , killed , murdered .
so Skun , Skan , Skint use away
I like regional colloquialisms , it's what keeps us from all sounding like the people on the news.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

See this is what happens when trappers are snow bound. The get bored and irritated and try to think up ways to irritate the rest of us.
Personally, I go with I peeled 25 beaver today.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Would Fore Skin...be the action before skinning..? It depends. Are you "skinning it" now?

That is funny. One of my pet sayings is “ do I need to type into a search for ya”? Skun is the correct past tense to the OP.

Personally, I go with I peeled 25 beaver today. Anyone peeling that many beaver a day can call it anything they want!!!
I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!
