Tom is one of my favorite authors. He was by far the best editor American Trapper ever had.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Thought he did a great job for "The Trapper" magazine as well, those were some good years in trapping history.

Fond memories of a time I spent with Tom. Good information and helpful tips over the years. Trapping and personal health issues. Enjoy his writing style and humor.

That’s a nice pile of furs. He had a funny look on his face when I pulled into the NTA Western in Nephi on a BMW enduro with Oregon plates. 1000 miles in a day getting there, 1000 miles home. Just another ride. Those where fun times checking traps on a bike in the snow.

Pretty sure he was the original publisher of “The Trapper” as well.

Bill used to be smack in the middle of my territory. Tom has trapped a ton of country over the years.
I saw him about 6 weeks ago as I was coming out of a small loop I was trapping. I'm guessing he was looking for some kitty's to trap.

Met Tom at the NTA in Columbus, MO. We talked about using 3/64 cable for cats. I was using for fox around Nome but on no more than a 24 hour check.

I have some seventies Trapper magazines he’s a very big part of. His books and videos are good and he comes across to me, not knowing him, as a humble man that devoted a major part of his life for the good of trapping. There’s a very large difference in the type of trapper back then and the Facebook cowboys now.

T 20,
John Iberlins, that can be some brutal country to trap. But the rewards are top quality fur.
The Iberlin family owns and ranches100s of thousands of acres from east of Bill to Buffalo.
I used to run from Buffalo to Gillette on down to just north of Douglas. And also in the Big Horn bason.
Back in my youthful days.

Actually he was the editor back then. The publisher was Chuck Spearman, who wasn’t even a trapper when it started. I believe that Tom was either the first or second editor that Chuck hired, but Chuck owned the paper until it was sold to Krause Publications. That paper came along at the right time, as it made a millionaire out of Chuck, when he sold it when the getting was good. Before that, Chuck was just a small town newspaper man!

Yeah, I remember him. I see him on social media occasionally

Save the land, resist against developers!!!
We don't need more houses.
I've lost too much trapping land to new housing developments.

I’ve shot in that country, you’re right it can be wooly. Dogs only.
