Didn't have any steel out and all caught up on put up. So I decided to have a little fun catching mice. Got 40 this week using 5 traps. I like the Victors with the plastic cheese for a pan. I use peanut butter on it. I'll make bait with them later this spring. Anyone selling them to bait makers or pet shops? Anyone else trapping mice. I caught these all in the barn and out at the brush pile.

Have had mice clean the peanut butter off the pans without tripping the trap. Place Peanut Butter UNDER the pan. Smear on bottom of pan.

Hern, I've never seen a trap like the one in the first picture. I like the "well" for the bait That wood stream trap is also one I used to have. I like the blind set along the wall too. I catch lots of moles in the barn that way in the fall. They'll eat the mice or other moles if you leave them in the trap too long Yes Sir, I like to make my own ground mouse bait. Ive noticed that they taint very fast. This year I'm going to grind some up with no taint. I've also had good results on red fox putting a whole frozen mouse in a dirt hole. I usually put it in so you can just see the tip of its nose or part of the tail. That's a good idea with the nesting material. H
ave had mice clean the peanut butter off the pans without tripping the trap. I put the old peanut butter out to dry for a few weeks. This makes it less creamy. I make sure the little well on the back of the pan is full of the stiffer peanut butter. Seems to keep them from robbing the bait

Love that bait cup too, but have found that the little plastic dog catch is very fragile, and will break off quickly in use.

When I was 10 I lived a year in Costa Rica. I was smitten with a little girl from a poor family. Well they had a dirt floor in their house and mice would come out looking for crumbs while we all sat at the table.
Next time I came calling I brought a mouse trap and got to watch mouse after mouse get caught in my very presence!
Golly I loved that girl!
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!
