Anyone know what year woodstream stopped producing victor steel traps and importing northwoods traps ? I wrote them for literature in 93 or 94 for victor,northwoods, and blake and lamb traps. They sent literature on the victor and northwoods product lines but not Blake and lamb. Were they actually still manufacturing victor traps as late as 1994 ?

I thought it was the late '80's,could be wrong.I remember hearing the trap division was up for sale, Butera bought it and moved the machinery to Ohio,sure seems like that was before 1990,but could be wrong.

I think your right, late 80's. Now if someone would buy out BMI and make their connie's like they used to, that'd be great!!

The Butera owned Oneida Victor traps made in ohio started in 1999. The end of the woodstream traps had to be late 80s early - mid 90s , it would be nice to find the last actual year Woodstream manufactured steel traps. Someone somewhere has to know.

That would be wonderful if you could find out. I had a conversation with him at a convention about 25 years ago but was so overwhelmed with questions I had forgot to ask about this. He had a wealth of knowledge and was interesting to talk to.

In 1963, it wasn’t even Woodstream. It was Animal Trap Company. Woodstream took over in the 1980s

If memory serves me Animal trap company became Woodstream in 1966 and in 1989 Woodstream was sold. The jump traps were the first to be dropped, then longsprings with the conibear and coilspring traps still available until around 1998 when Butera took over. By 1999 the Victor traps were made by Butera in Ohio. So from somewhere between 1989 to 1997-98ishh the Woodstream traps ceased. Just trying to pin down the exact year.

I trapped coyotes with Pete’s Brother-in-law a few years ago. Isn’t’ Pete around 90 years old now? I know he no longer traps.
